About Lorie Powell, BSN, RN, MS WHNP-BC
Lorie is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her undergraduate BSN at the University of Michigan and her graduate MS at Georgetown University. Lorie is in the process of obtaining a post graduate certificate from the University of Michigan as sexual health educator and counselor. In her work with Dr. Stoehr’s pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction patients, she is particularly passionate about the peri and menopausal population.
Lorie has been a women’s health clinician for over 30 years with experience in OB as a labor and delivery nurse, as a maternity support case manager, and as an OBGYN, cosmetics, and pediatric office nurse.
Lorie is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, ACOG, NPWH, IPPS, ISSWSH, and AASECT and is dedicated to maintaining academic excellence with evidenced based literature to support clinical and holistic care of women.
Lorie believes physical, mental, and spiritual health are equally important to quality of life and has a tattoo stating “Cura Personalis” which means care of the whole person.
Lorie is originally from Detroit Michigan but has lived all over the southern half of the country, in Texas the last 19 years.
Lorie has 2 grown sons, a life partner, and a rescue dog all of whom she loves dearly. In her spare time, she is taking care of her aging parents and loves to travel.
